Getting Started as a Specialist on Tutrx

A step-by-step walkthrough to set up your profile, connect payouts, publish your Outsource Work service, and start taking on client engagements.

    Step-by-step guide

    1. 1

      Open the Specialist Dashboard

After signing in, click 'Specialist Dashboard' in the top navigation bar. On your first few visits you'll see an onboarding checklist above your stats — it tracks the same steps in this guide, so you can either follow along here or check items off directly from the dashboard.

    2. 2

Step 1 — Complete your profile

Go to Profile in the dashboard sidebar. Fill in your full name, professional title, a clear bio, location, and upload a profile photo. Add work experience, education, technical skills, platforms you've worked on, and industry domains. A complete profile builds trust with clients and improves how often you appear in search results. If you have a resume handy, use the 'Import from Resume' option to let AI auto-fill most fields for you.

    3. 3

Step 2 — Set up your payout method

Open Settings → Billing & Payments and connect your Wise account. This is required before you can publish your service — without it, you can save a draft but nothing goes live. Wise supports direct deposits to banks in India, the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, and many other countries. Payouts trigger automatically once a client confirms completed work, with no manual request needed.

    4. 4

Step 3 — Publish your Outsource Work service

Open the 'Outsource Work' tab in the sidebar and set up your service. This is for clients who need help with tasks at their real job — ServiceNow and technical work, debugging, code reviews, architecture advice, or ongoing job support. Describe what you offer, then set your pricing: an hourly rate (billed against confirmed hours) or a fixed price per cycle — weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Publish when ready and clients can book you.

    5. 5

Step 4 — Take on engagements and log your work

When a client books you, an engagement is created and your work is organized into tasks. Log hours against each task as you go, attach any deliverables, and submit for the client to confirm. Once a task's hours are confirmed, it's settled and counts toward your earnings. Everything — tasks, messages, and files — lives inside the engagement.

      Where to go next

Your Specialist Dashboard surfaces your real metrics — active engagements, confirmed hours, clients, and earnings, plus any requests that need your review. Use Reviews to respond to client feedback and Messages to chat with prospective and current clients. Any time you need a refresher, the rest of this Help Centre has articles for booking, milestones, timesheets, payouts, and more.
